Description
Greater Flamingos are filter feeders. They use their feet to stir up the silt on the bottom of the lake and then suck in the murky water and harvest small crustacians, worms, and insect larvae that are contained within. They gather by the thousands at Lake Nakuru in Kenya where this image was taken.
